Diversity & Inclusion Statement

Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens, Inc. (PRBSG) is committed to creating an equitable, diverse and inclusive culture where the contributions of all board, staff, volunteers and visitors are valued, respected and appreciated. We embrace and actively promote the principles of IDEAL -inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility, and leadership. We will commit to seek out well-qualified individuals, which represent the broad spectrum of individuality, to serve on our staff and board and to be a vital part of the Garden. Our volunteer base is diverse in all ways. They are invaluable to the day-to-day operations of the garden. Their interactions with each other and with staff and visitors, in pursuing a common goal, have helped to tear down walls of prejudice towards others that may be different in age, gender, race, sexual orientation, or abilities, to name a few.

Our programs and allied partners will be selected so PRBSG can reach the largest cross section of participants age, gender, race, sexual orientation, abilities, and socio-economic populations. Programming goals are to be designed for relevance and accessibility, as this is the key to inclusiveness. The Garden will design and install spaces that allow visitors to experience all that the gardens offer without obstacles and using all the senses. Future development of new buildings, structures and gardens will showcase the commitment to accessibility in a tangible way.

PRBSG will continue to be committed to the principles of IDEAL within our volunteers, staff, and board.
