Laurie Tennent

Laurie Tennent is an American artist known for her distinctive botanical images. Tennent earned her BFA from the College for Studies in Detroit and has worked with sophisticated photographic media for thirty years.


Botanicals is an exhibition traveling to botanic and sculpture gardens nationwide. Recently displayed at The Marshall Fredericks Sculpture Museum and The Chicago Botanic Garden. This collection is created from actual specimens found in the Peace River Gardens. Five permanent works on aluminum, were purchased for the garden and an exhibition will run thru March 2018.


Tennent’s work is included in public and private collections including, Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit MI; Biblioteque Nationale, Paris, France; University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI; Morton Arboreteum, Chicago, IL; Peace River Sculpture and Botanical Garden, Punta Gorda, FL; Ryerson University, Toronto; The Gap, Corporate Contemporary Art Collection, San Francisco, CA.


She is a featured exhibitor at the Gardens from October 2017 – March 2018
